Course Description | The purpose of this course is to introduce social work students to the culture, history, policies, programs, and issues that face different generations of the United States military veterans and their families. This course will provide the essential background and knowledge base necessary to assist military veterans and their families through appropriate referrals for social and medical services. The military veteran community will be examined using both micro and macro lenses in order to provide an overarching understanding of the complex matters faced by today’s military veterans, their families, and communities. |
