Course Description | Many of us are drawn to sociology, because--at least at some level--we care about making the world more just. The irony, however, is that sociology traditionally has had very little to say about the processes by which individuals and groups come together to address the kinds of inequalities that sociology is so good at identifying. This class focuses on the theory and practice of organizing, defined most simply as the process by which individuals enable others to come together around shared values and common interests in such a way that enhances their power. |
