Course Description | The role played by the media in democratic politics has never been more fiercely debated than it is today, nor has it ever been more complex and rapidly changing. How do both traditional mass media and social media shape how we see the political world? Why do they shape it in the ways that they do? This topic is huge, so after a general look at this topic, providing you with theoretical tools that can be used to address these questions, we will focus on the relationship between the media and political polarization. |
