The goals of Roots and Branches of Oral History: Part 1 are:

To explore the developments of oral history as a trans-disciplinary and global field of study and practice originating in oral form in cultures around the world, including its evolution  as a field of study and practice in the 20th and 21st centuries:  tracing multiple points of origin in often   intersecting fields of memory studies, literature, sociology, anthropology, psychology, history and the arts.  

To support you in developing your own values, ethics and performance of oral history work to define your own approach to theory, practice and interpretation.
