Course Description | Course Goals and Objectives The aim of this course is to critically review recently published research articles from scientific journals in emerging areas of nutritional biochemistry and biology through presentations and class discussion. Students will learn about the molecular and biological mechanisms that control nutrient metabolism and functions at cell, tissue and whole-body levels. This course will also help students gain knowledge on current methodology employed in advanced nutritional biochemistry research. Students working in groups will be required to organize and present data from selected research articles that focus on the weekly subject, as well as to generate hypothesis, potential mechanisms, and alternative approaches to experiments described in the article. Students will create and deliver one seminar-like style presentation for this course. Literature for every class will be selected by the instructor. Student groups and presentation dates will be assigned at the beginning of the course. Course objectives:
