Course Description | This is an introductory pharmacology course, and, since pharmacology is an applied science, it builds on several foundational concepts of biology, chemistry, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology in the context of nursing practice. Principles of pharmacology will be discussed, including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicities. Major pharmacologic agents used in treating more common disease states will be discussed with emphasis on relating the mechanism of action to the therapeutic use. |
