Course Description | This team-taught course introduces methods for studying medieval manuscripts through weekly hands-on instruction and assignments. Students will become acquainted with the collections of medieval manuscripts at Columbia, and will learn from the scholars at Columbia who specialize in the material study of manuscripts as artifacts as well as in types of manuscripts as defined by their textual contents. The course provides a foundation for advanced work and satisfies the material text requirement of the MA in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. |
