Course Description | This course intends to present a baseline of retail industry concepts and practices embraced across a broad spectrum of retail enterprises. The syllabus of this course will cover topics relevant to both specialty and multi-classification retailers operating locally, nationally and on global platforms, both brick-and-mortar and internet-based. The subject matter will be relevant for all channels of retail from budget to luxury. Six to nine guest speakers representing a myriad of retailing and retailing-related experiences will join the class throughout the semester. This course is geared toward students who are considering entering the retail or consumer products industry, and/or, who are looking for insights as to how this industry is managed. |
