Course Description | We examine a set of issues that are part of the current Social and Economic Development debate but are not fully consolidated into real policymaking. In each class we will discuss a topic that has a strong potential to become a key issue in future development policies. The themes include Global inequality, Public Expenditure and Social Inclusion, Environment, New Fiscal Regimes, Resilience and Development, and Deglobalization. The course combines problem-based learning and lectures, with systematic classroom discussion. Students are expected to think critically and actively engage in the debate. The course has an emphasis on Brazilian issues. |
