Course Description | This course introduces the multi-faceted history of Islam and Muslim communities in China from the 7th century to the present. Though engaging a broad selection of primary sources of Chinese Islam and scholarly works, we will examine a variety of aspects of the Muslim experience in China, including religious syncretism, identity formation, and state-Muslim relations. |
