Course Description | This course will explore the complex and evolving relationship between food, public health and social justice. It will provide a context to understand the historical, behavioral, cultural and environmental impacts on access to food, and its integration with population health and the health system. Students will make connections between the food system, public health, and the development and implementation of health policy. Students will translate course material into a practical exercise by designing and implementing a community food and public health project. Food intersects with public health on many more issues than most people imagine. |
