Course Description | This course introduces students to basic research methods used in health policy research. After providing an introduction to regression analysis, the class will focus on developing the skills to enable students to analyze the effect of a government program (or a variable that can be affected by a government program) on health outcomes. Specific learning objectives include: developing data management skills, computing descriptive statistics, and performing regression analysis using Stata, a simple yet powerful and widely-used statistical software package; critically evaluating empirical research conducted by others; and applying skills to evaluate the effect of a publicly provided government program. |
