Course Description

This class is a research seminar that explores the history of voluntary migrations from Africa to the United States over the course of the 20th century. It is open to students who have done prior coursework in African Studies, Africana Studies, Race and Ethnic Studies, or History. Sophomores and Juniors who are developing their historical research skills would be well suited to this class.  Thematically the course dwells at a point of intersection between African history, African Diaspora History, and US Immigration History.
