Course Description | The aim of this course is to provide graduate students with a basic understanding of some of the key concepts and arguments within classic texts of European social theory. We will read works by Marx, Weber, Freud, Fanon, Foucault, Arendt and some others. The aim is to get a handle on the texts themselves, as a necessary aspect of acquiring basic literacy in the field, and only secondarily to contextualize them. |
