Course Description

This seminar will explore narrative representations of criminality from the late 18th
century to the present, drawing on German literature with occasional forays into
criminology and film. Specific attention will be paid to various textual strategies of
constructing authenticity, "true crime" fiction, and interrelations of literature and
criminology.

Lectures, discussions, and readings will be in German.
