Course Description | In this twelve-person seminar, we will review the structure of the high yield bond and private lending markets and develop a practical approach to assess credit risk. The class will be divided into four groups of three students each. Homework assignments and presentations are to be completed collaboratively within each group. We will discuss market trends and analyze recent debt offerings. The emphasis will be placed on developing analytic skills for reviewing corporate credit (i.e., understanding the economics/cash generation capacity of a business, one’s position in a balance sheet and rights as a creditor) and assessing how the market measures and prices credit risk. |
