Course Description

This course is designed to familiarize the students with the history of Afghan cinema and analyze the challenges of the growth and development of cinema in this country; to investigate the influence of political and historical unrest on Afghan cinema and the position of Afghan cinema in the region and in the world; to screen

the films of the history of Afghan cinema, along with analysis and criticism to understand the style and structure of these films and the culture and customs reflected in these works; and to study Afghan cinema directors, with an overview of their film activities and online discussions with some directors.

During the semester, scholars are asked to watch some films, and to criticize and analyze these films, as well as articles related to the written assignment topics.

The course will be taught in Dari, with simultaneous English interpretation.
