Course Description This course integrates epidemiologic and human genetics methods to understand the complex aging traits. The first half of the course discusses substantive and epidemiologic aspects of age-related diseases (e.g., cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis), and the second half of the course discusses how genetic and epidemiologic methods can be used to examine the issues discussed in the first half. Topics include study design, modeling of aging, statistical genetics methods, epidemiology and genetics of age-related diseases and geriatric conditions.
