Course Description | This upper-level research-oriented seminar will study the all-American icon of the cowboy, with its signature embrace of masculinity, stoicism, elegiac music, and love of nature. We will read Cormac McCarthy’s The Border Trilogy and other works that emerge from this icon, watch a curated series of cowboy movies, and write critical essays. |
