| Course Description | Prerequisites: EEEB GR6110, EEEB GR6112, or EEEB GR6990, basic statistics, or the instructors permission. This course provides an overview of marine ecology, introducing processes and systems from which the marine environment is formed and the issues and challenges which surround its future conservation. Coursework will be evaluated using debates, oral presentations and more traditional metrics. Topics to be covered include fisheries, invasive species, habitat alteration, climate change. While we will focus on general threats there will be special emphasis placed on coral reef ecosystems. |
