Course Description

This course has two primary objectives: to develop your ability to negotiate in a purposeful, principled, and effective way, and to teach you how to build consensus and broker wise agreements. Centered on public policy and international affairs, the curriculum uses immersive simulations and active learning methods to translate theory into practice.

Learning happens dynamically through both in-class and out-of-class exercises. You will navigate a wide variety of negotiation challenges, including international conflicts on the brink of war, diplomatic negotiations over catastrophic environmental accidents, local government collective bargaining talks, environmental dispute settlements, and high-stakes trade negotiations.
