Course Description

This course critically examines the root causes, typologies, and evolving dynamics of forced displacement, including refugee movements, internal displacement, and climate-induced migration. Students will engage with the key international legal and policy frameworks governing protection, evaluate the effectiveness of humanitarian responses and durable solutions, and consider ethical and political challenges through global case studies. The course emphasizes a comparative and interdisciplinary approach, equipping students to assess the adequacy of current systems in addressing the complexities of displacement today.
