Course Description | This course introduces students to the economic analysis of development processes and policies in low- and middle-income countries. It examines foundational concepts in development economics, including poverty and inequality, human capital, economic growth, structural transformation, and sustainability. The course emphasizes both theoretical frameworks and empirical methods, providing students with analytical tools for assessing development policies and programs. Students will explore topics such as the measurement of development, macroeconomic policies, trade and industrialization, the environmental dimensions of poverty reduction, and the use of experiments and data analysis to inform policy decisions. |
