Drawing on case studies and empirical research, it examines the politics of poverty, hunger, inequality, corruption, social unrest, and institutional reform. Students will analyze how historical legacies, resource constraints, and diverse political systems shape development outcomes. The course emphasizes critical evaluation of competing theories, the use of the comparative method, and the application of policy analysis skills. Students will develop proficiency in interpreting and presenting evidence-based policy arguments and deepen their understanding of strategies to address entrenched global development challenges. |
