Course Description | This class will introduce students to the concepts, techniques, and tools necessary to manage Infrastructure Megaprojects. We will explore criteria that defines a Megaproject and their varied and often conflicting challenges. We will discuss the role of political will in project success, and how to evaluate and quantify the social and economic benefits, and values of a large complex infrastructure project. As part of the course students will meet and be taught by prominent guest lecturers who have been involved in building some of NYC’s most significant infrastructure Megaprojects. The course instructor and the invited guests will discuss relevant Megaproject case studies, such as the World Trade Center, Design & Construction of the NY Mets Minor League Stadium, and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Major Capital Infrastructure Program. |
