| Course Description | Introduction to: (a) the infrastructure systems that support urban socioeconomic activities and (b) fundamental system design and analysis methods. Coverage of water resources, vertical, transportation, communications and energy infrastructure. Emphasis upon the process that these systems serve, the factors that influence their performance, the basic mechanisms that govern their design and operation, and the impacts that they have regionally and globally. Student teams complete a semester-long design/analysis project with equal emphasis given to water resources/environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering and construction engineering and management topics. |
