| Course Description | Elementary introduction to fundamental concepts and techniques in classical analysis; applications of such techniques in different topics in applied mathematics. Brief review of essential concepts and techniques in elementary analysis; elementary properties of metric and normed spaces; completeness, compactness, and their consequences; continuous functions and their properties; Contracting Mapping Theorem and its applications; elementary properties of Hilbert and Banach spaces; bounded linear operators in Hilbert spaces; Fourier series and their applications. |
