| Course Description | Rapid prototyping and engineering skills for experiments operating in altered gravity environments. Topics include parabolic flight mechanics, human physiology in reduced gravity, the space environment, mechanical and electrical design for flight hardware, data acquisition, experiment operations, safety analysis, fault tree methods, and payload integration requirements. Team-based development of a flight-ready microgravity experiment concept culminating in a Payload Integration Package (PIP), Critical Design Review (CDR), and Technical Readiness Review (TRR), with emphasis on flight readiness, safety procedures, and payload integration. |
