Course Description This course introduces sequential designs for clinical trials in drug development. This course is designed for advanced Master's, DrPH, and PhD students in biostatistics. The overall learning objective is to equip students with the techniques to construct and evaluate sequential designs from a statistical perspective, although clinical relevance will be emphasized. The course consists of two parts. The first part is an in-depth study of the classical group-sequential designs, which are primarily applicable in large randomized phase III trials. The second part presents selected advanced topics on a variety of sequential procedures, also with an emphasis on clinical applications.
